Donate a Reef Ball

The Reef Balls we use have different diameters (we mostly use 80cm diameter). They have different openings and are hollow inside so fish and other marine life can hide in it. The Reef Ball has several ‘plug inserts’ on the outside to plant our coral plugs with the Juvenile Corals. The advantage of the Reef Ball is that it does well on sandy areas where there is no basic substrate. This way we can make a new ‘artificial reef’.

the process

creating a Reef Ball

With Reef Ball® molds, we create a Reef Ball from a cement composition together with the local communicty. For efficient production and a sustainable reef, the minimum production is 25-30 Reef Balls.

WHEN FINISHED

They are filled with a buoy which is inflated.

TO THE OCEAN

A boat will transfer the Reef Balls to their final location.

ON THE SPOT

The buoy is deflated, and the Reef Ball sinks to its final destination.

THE CORALS

We need 15-20 Juvenile Corals on one Reef Ball. Natural coral settlements, fish, invertebrates, etc. start housing on and in the Reef Balls within weeks after placement.

PAYMENT METHODS

Payments are 100% secure and will be handled by Mollies Paylink service, called Plink. In the next screen you will be redirected to a secure checkout process on useplink.com.
