For our Shark/Ray/Skate conservation project in Kenya we developed education & awareness kits for fishers, school children and the community in general. You can dowload the kit here Elasmobranch education & awareness kit Kenya 2025. Elasmobranchs is a subclass of cartilaginous fish and includes sharks, rays and skates.
To different target groups in East Africa, the kits highlight the importance of these magnificent species, their crucial role in the ecosystem, the threats to their existence, the toxicity of their mear and solutions to protect them. Coral Reef Care focuses on different solutions to reduce elasmobranch fishing such as ecotourism, alternative sustainable livelihoods incl. retraining and funding, local conservation projects such as coral restoration.
